Epicurean Projects, Activism, Videos, Zoom Meetings

On the first Monday of every month we host a special Meet-and-Greet for our forum members. If you are interested in attending the next one, please post to the thread for that exact date, or to the thread "Questions About Upcoming Events" in this forum, or message Cassius or Kalosyni.

Every Wednesday for approximately an hour we gather to study and discuss Epicurean Philosophy in a friendly and supportive environment. Attendance is limited - forum members who request to attend must first be approved by the moderating panel. For further questions, please message Cassius.

Each month on the Twentieth, for approximately an hour, we continue the ancient Epicurean practice of memorializing the founders of the School. This is also a time for Epicurean philosophy discussion. Attendance is limited to "03- Members" and Above (members who have demonstrated their dedication to the continued study and practice of Epicurean philosophy). In the spring of 2023 EpicureanFriends sponsored a weekly book review of "Living for Pleasure: an Epicurean Guide to Life" by Emily Austin. We were honored to have Ms. Austin herself participate with us in the final session. Watch the Activities forum for future similar programs.

General discussion of ways and means (theory and practice) to implement Epicurean organizations, as well as discussion on strategies for starting a local group in your area (Meetup, Etc.), along with discussion of live local seminars and other meetings.

Friends of Epicurean Philosophy Garden of Athens - https://www.epicuros.gr/pages/en.htm This organization is in Athens, Greece and puts on a Panhellenic Symposium of Epicurean Philosophy every February.

The Society of Epicurus is an initiative led by Hiram Crespo and headquartered at SocietyofEpicurus.com. There is no official or formal relationship between Epicureanfriends.com and the Society of Epicurus, or between participants in Epicureanfriends.com and members of the Society of Epicurus, except as individuals in either group choose to participate in the other. It should therefore not be presumed that participants in either group agree with or endorse any particular activity or statement of the other. However there is much obvious overlap in areas of interest, and this subforum is made available for use in discussion of particular aspects of the Society of Epicurus, such as its Twenty Tenets of December, 2019, or any other matters of particular relevance to the Society of Epicurus.

Epicurean Radio was set up in 2019 as a website to continuously live-stream episodes of the podcasts and other materials. With technology changes, as of February, 2020, it appears that these resources are better spent on podcasting and other on-demand materials. All material formerly available at Epicureanradio.com is now available through links in this forum. If and when Epicureanradio.com is reactivated, notice will be placed here.
