For me, to be an Epicurean mean sharing. Sharing knowledge is the most important thing anyone can do in my opinion. I think about all the amazing people that have died and left their knowledge sheltering inside their graves, that's not on in my opinion.

When Hemingway killed himself, he could have been passing his knowledge on instead. The same goes for Keith Emerson of ELP. He of all people had so much passion and understanding of music and he killed himself and let all his knowledge die with him.

No matter what happens in a person's life, there is always something you know that others don't and want to know. Don't die without passing on your knowledge.

Hi Cassius, SamJ et al.

I've long had an interest in Epicurus. While I know only a small amount of his philosophies, what struck me about his ideas is his Garden. I long to have a place where like-minded people can get together to discuss how to make things better and then do something about it.

By making things better I mean things like balancing up equality. Producing and promoting the arts. Getting rid of political/religious/academic and social corruption. Of course, I am a realist too and know that none of this will ever happen on a large scale, but I like to think that it is possible in small groups, like that existed in the Epicurean Garden.

I'm studying Ancient Rome at a local university here in Australia, I'm in Canberra, the capital, and it so saddens me to know that very little has changed in the human makeup since thousands of years ago. I assume nothing will ever change our fundamental greeds. However, the more I learn about philosophy, the more I am at peace with the way of the world. I don't agree with about 95% of what goes on, but I see it for what it is while maintaining my rage.

I hope to hear many thoughts about how Epicurus has changed people's lives and expanded their thinking.
