Hello from north-western Europe!
I've read bits and pieces of Epicurean literature over the years, but I have plenty more to read and re-read. I've started reading a PDF of DeWitt's book, and indeed that seems like an excellent book.
I've looked into many different philosophies and religions over the years, and Epicureanism is one that seems to suit my personality, inner nature and so on.
Epicureanism talks a lot about friendship. Unfortunately I've had some negative experiences with people who were supposed to be friends. However, friendship requires a sense of equality among the members of the friendship, and Epicurus is into equality. And those "friends" weren't so into equality! Of course, I've had good experiences with friends too.
Right, maybe I shouldn't waffle too much. I'll do more reading and so on, and will see you soon!
