Hello –
I am a member of the U3A Philosophy interest group in Whangarei, New Zealand. U3A stands for University of the Third Age. I am 86. We have studied many philosophies and I am especially interested in learning more about Epicureanism
We are currently studying ‘New’ Epicureanism as presented in Ars Vitae by Elizabeth Lasch-Quinn. . I understand that there are differences between some modern concepts and classical Epicureanism.
I am interested in comparing the modern and ancient versions of Epicureanism.
I found this forum because I clicked on How to live like an Epicurean by Emily Austin in the Psyche/aeon website.
Thank you for the list of key texts and references, which I will begin to study.
Kind regards,.
