I hope that I will stick to the study of Epicurus long enough. I think the only problems I will have, where I hope I can get help here, is the language, that I find hard to understand most of the time, but I think Martin can help me with that. But also that I studied Marxism before and so view much things different then maybe do, and connect more with Marxism then I should. But I will try my best at any time!

I absolutely agree with the others about Emily Austin’s Living for Pleasure. And I would add Haris Dimitriadis’ Epicurus and the Pleasant Life. I generally liked Crespo’s book, and it’s worth the read. But I’d definitely go with Austin first.

EDIT: Cassius has some good book-stuff out there, that he does not promote -- but you should check it out.
Thank you very much! I have put it on my list! I will look around for Cassius’ stuff! -
One question is there right now. Is “Tending the Epicurean Garden” worth to read? It was written by Hiram Crespo.

Hello and thanks that I can be here! I am already sorry, my English isn’t the best, but I will always try to write as good as I can!
I’m Josh, and got interested into Epicureanism by reading Marx’s: “The Difference Between the Democritean and Epicurean Philosophy of Nature”. After I read this, I got my first book on German, called “Die Philosophie der Freude” (the philosophy of joy) that got works of Epicurus and I liked them. I am mostly interested in the topic of living a happy life, and how that is our goal, not by buying more and more stuff, but with Ataraxia.I hope I don’t have to explain more, but if there are any questions, I am ready to answer them!
