Lucretius – Little is known about Lucretius personally, and this page is devoted to him and research on his poem. At right is an impression of a ring that Munro states in his translation was found in Pompeii, and thus may be the only surviving likeness of our poet.
Of particular interest at the moment is the obtaining of a digital copy of the Codex Oblongus (a ninth century copy DRN) published in 1908 and 1911 by a certain Émile (Æmilius) Chatelain. The original resides at the library of Leiden University, Netherlands.
If you have the ability to assist us in getting access to a full digital copy of this document (which is not availalbe on Google) please let us know.
At right is a portrait of H. A. J. Munro, translator of one of the most influential modern editions of De Rerum Natura.
